Default S/S+ Manual Shifting - Shift Delay when car is cold

I usually don't go manual shifting until my car is warm but today I totally forgot this so I was using manual shifting in S/S+ mode when the car is cold and whenever I try to shift at around 2-3000rpm it won't shift until about 3.5k or 4k rpm. At times, I would have to shift 3-4 times before the car would react to it. When my car is warm, it shifts fine without any delay. Is this normal?

The short answer is Yes it's normal.

Until our cars are warmed up we are at the mercy of the ECU gods due to emissions requrments. At least that's my understanding!

Yeah, same behavior with the 250 F-Sport as well. It's normal when cold.
