Post #6, and several other more detailed posts, of this thread.

Would be great if everyone can post what version they have when discussing.

Meaningless otherwise...

ahhh thanks.. must have missed on first glance :)

agreed that issues should be accompanied by version, otherwise doesn't help.

I brought my car in to Lexus of Pembroke Pines yesterday.

They had my car for nearly the entire day yesterday and could not resolve the issue. They claim they were doing the update and when they got to the last step it would show an "error" and they would have to start over again. I was told they tried several times and eventually they just told me to pick up my car and once they figure out how to fix it they will call me to come back.

Rasta - was this for version 8500 or 8600? sounds like Pembroke should have done a few updates already, no?

They told me mine was the 1st one they had experiencing this issue. Honestly I am not sure if the update was the 8500 or 8600 but the service tech told me that the TSIB I printed and brought to him was an old one and that there was a newer update for them to download. So I would assume its the 8600.

Brought my car in for service; master tech updated software from 8400 to 8500 on the spot, but doing so did not improve the speed of changing the volume, station or source.

While master tech said he didn’t feel there was too much delay(!?), he kept the car, but called me back today to say he spoke with Lexus corporate and they said they’re going to address this, as well as the choppy navigation map, which I also complained of, on the next software release, but there's no telling when that will be!? Disappointing if you ask me! Master tech also mentioned Denso develops the software, not Lexus itself, per-se.

In all, I still suggest everyone call Lexus corporate (800-25-LEXUS) to complain of what is a slow and sluggish system and choppy navigation map. I have a 2004 LX470 with no similar problems at all; you’d think that in 10 years the system would be faster, not slower. We need to be sure they’re working to release a solution ASAP...

Anyone NOT having problems?

Any 3IS owners not experiencing sluggishness or other Nav mediated issues?

alexlude Nov 1, 2013 04:21 PM

CtS - are you experience same said sluggishness as dbs600 describes? are you on 8500?

to check program version:

Cycle Ignition to ACC- The Lexus Emblem displays on screen

wait for the display to switch to the caution screen. select continue.

Cycle the headlight switch On/OFF 3 times while holding down MENU

Select service information

select version information

select EMV-M

If the current version is less than V10A8400 you require an update.

Turn ignition off to exit service.

I will not be in receipt of my 3IS until the end of the month. I'm just trying to get a sense of how universal the problems might be with the system.

I've never had the problems reported in this thread. I think it's a vocal few and most people probably are not, but they have no reason to say anything so it appears to be a lot of people having trouble with the navigation.

Just yesterday my system rebooted itself for no good reason. That's the third time it's done so in a month of ownership.

Fsportlex Nov 4, 2013 09:29 AM

my system has rebooted itself about 20 times in three months, its choppy all the time, very slow response and if you move to quick it will freeze and crash....im taking my car for first service weeks end ill let you guys know what they say

alexlude Nov 4, 2013 10:18 AM

And what versions of the firmware do you guys have?

It's sort of pointless to report issues if you don't have the most recent software update
