You guys are lucky to be able to stop at the dealer and buy the car. Dealers here don't even have the demo car for test drives. Mine won't be here until December/January based on how long people are waiting for their orders.

Las Vegas isn't exactly swimming in IS 350 F-Sports with rwd. As of last week, there were only three or four in town, between two dealers. There were probably as many non-F 350's. IS 250's were more plentiful. My dealer said they were all selling briskly. The car I bought hadn't been on the lot for more than two days.

Same here with me. They told me it'll be $170. I told them not the nav update but the firmware update, then gave them the tsib # yet they still didn't know what I was talking about.

Yeah, they said they didn't know about the TSIB and that it would also require me to leave the car with them at least overnight. I just said forget it and came back home. Kind of ridiculous, this whole process. I expected more from a company like Lexus.

Checked my IS350 F Sport which was delivered to Stevens Creek on Friday afternoon, it has the 8500 rev firmware.

That's awesome; thanks for letting us know!

How do you feel about the software?

Sluggish at all?

Seems pretty good to me, menus are traversed quickly, routes seem reasonable. I'll post if I find any bugs.

How are you finding integration of your phone, especially when charging, with the Enform suite, Pandora, etc. and playing music from other sources like iPod or USB?

Had mine updated over the weekend at the glendale lexus dealership in LA. Haven't really noticed a big difference thought. System is a bit more snappier and havent had a freeze yet.

Anyone else upgrade his firmware to 8500?

richard58 Oct 22, 2013 05:01 PM

8500 came with car

I picked up my new IS350 F-Sport on October 13 and it was (is) at V10A8500.

The only real problems I am having is it does not see the DCM all the time and will not allow downloading of the eDestination folders.

It also re-booted itself a few times right after I started the car the other day. I only saw this that one time.

Otherwise it seems to work fine.

What do you mean that "it does not see the DCM all the time..."

8500 has been working well during a 1000 mike road trip to Oregon with the exception of one slowdown that crashed soon afterwards while trying to build a route. Lexus had just finally gotten my edestination service working and I had just downloaded that data. Not sure if they were related.

Still having trouble with my 5s in Bluetooth mode, it'll drop occasionally and then flash ipod error(connected to USB port for charging). I may just leave my backpacking nano in the car permanently if I find that it works fine when I get home.

So they still have some bugs to fix with this version.

I'm most concerned about speed and responsiveness of the system (changing volume, stations, sources, etc.); does everything in this regard seem up to par now? Thanks.

I got my IS250 updated last week.

It seems much quicker when you're using the mouse to navigate around. It's still the same slowness switching between the audio moves, ie: radio, sat, bluetooth, etc.

I've never had GPS issues so I can't say anything about that. When I navigate around the map the frames move pretty quickly just as before the upgrade.

Where do I go to find the version update I have?

can you post instructions on how to show what version of the software you have?

ie. nav > options > etc etc.. (would be helpful for others to report the version when encountering issues and myself to know when i get the car)...

thanks.
