Oil change every 5k or 10k miles?
When I bought my L/certified 2014 is250 I swore the sales guy told me oil change for my car is every 10k miles, but today I just got the maintenance required soon notification. When I look at the maintenance settings I notice it's set to notify every 5000 miles, so how do I determine when I should change my oil and the frequency?

Taking the car in for check ups every 5,000 miles is recommended by Lexus but oil & filter changes are recommended every 10,000.

I used to do it every 5k until I had it tested. Oil came back as having thousands more miles available, per Blackstone Labs. I now do every 7.5k

I change my oil and filter every 5,000 miles also. It doesn't hurt to be safe. I rather maintain the engine as much as possible because reliability is why we all bought this car.

We have lots of threads on this topic already, but I do the 10k oil changes, as recommended by Lexus.

If my next maintenance suggested is 28k miles, would there be any issues if I wait to do the 30k miles service maintenance?

Instead at 5000 miles I showed up for my first service at 6300 miles since I was on a long road trip. Nobody cared.

I'm looking at the last 20k mile service printed and it says OIL-MOBIL 0W20 was used. Does that mean it's not synthetic?

That's Synthetic Oil they used. Mobil 1 is good stuff.
