IS300h produces 217hp and 300 Nm torque.
IS250 produces 204hp and 250 Nm torque.

Taking into account the extra mass, IS300h is slower. This is reflected in the 0-60mph times.

But the IS300h probably has faster overtaking times and in gear acceleration. In real world driving, 0-60 is not so important.

there is no torque rating in hybrid... you cant really power launch hybrid either, so 0-60 seems worse... in reality, you have 42hp turbo working anytime you press gas, while in IS250, you have to drive it between 4400rpm and 6600 rpm to get it to move that quickly. It is not a fast engine at all.

Spoke to a sales manager at Lexus and they had been to Hungary and Budapest racetrack to test the new IS 300h and 250. 300h is according to them considerably faster than IS 250 when it comes to acceleration between for example 80-160 km/h ( 50-100 mph) .

Unless they transitioned the 4gr-fse to D4s (instead of D4) DI, I wouldn't touch the 250 with a 10 foot pole.

i never actually got to drive IS250, but i drove GS250 and it run as something was holding its tires. I would never buy GS250 under any circumstance, and this is from the guy that thought 3GS 350 was very very fast car.

In IS300h, you get 42hp coming from hybrid powertrain, at any point you press the gas, is probably doing wonders for the vehicle.... so at 2000 rpm you press gas, and instead of 100hp, you get 40% extra.

I feel that Lexus will pull a similar move as with the 2006 GS300. The next year, it was unveiled with the 3.5L V6. Wouldn't be surprised if the 2.5 V6 was axed for the 2015MY and replaced with something else. That said, I am content with the 2.5 in my 2008.

European tests on the german free speed highway concludes thats this is clearly a gearbox problem , I guess the new IS has the same configuration ? This video shows what im talking about.

no, car is slow when going 50kmh and punching it, it doesnt have anything to do with vmax... just small engine, power in upper rpms, heavy car. never feels anything like quick at all. Maybe its also because GS is different car from IS, it didnt feel natural to rev it over 4000rpm, and that engine needs constant revving if you want any power.

its just stop gap solution before 300h came and probably 2.0t.
