The pursuit of F
I've been posting and replying here for a few weeks but never introduced myself! I'm new to Lexus. I joined the forum last month when I was contemplating the 3IS and I ended up buying one a few days ago:
IS 250 / Starfire Pearl / Parchment Interior / non F-Sport / Fresh off the boat, fresh from the port, only 5 miles on the car when I got it.
Since the launch of the 3IS I have only seen ONE Nebula Gray F-Sport on the road. I haven't seen any 3IS since I bought mine. I love the fact that I don't see this car anywhere on the road (yet). Every time someone with a 2IS sees the car, they do a double-take. You all know what a stock Starfire Pearl 3IS looks like...so I will post pics next Saturday after my tint and OptiCoat are done.

Greetings from Sweden!
I've been lurking around for a while, but signed up since i've ordered an IS300h.
It's an executive (in Sweden that's fully loaded with all extras except moon roof) with Mercury Grey Mica (1H9, Nebula Grey in US?) exterior and black leather interior.
Expected delivery by september 12. Can't wait!
Traded from a 2005 Audi A4 Avant 2.0T quattro.

Are people buying the IS250's mainly for the added fuel economy and lower price? To me, it doesn't quite have enough performance potential to justify its price tag unlike the IS350 IMO.

Well i needed a new car fast, and the 350 is just outside my price range so yeah

Back on topic, I really hoping I can post a pic of a USB 3IS on here sometime within the next year, if Lexus will decide to be nice to the USA.

What's all this about? What other competition did you look at?
In any case, and I'm going back to BayArea420 on this---I still think that it feels a little counter-intuitive to spend the money on an IS250 F-Sport...But that's just me and I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
Also, if you say you're on so tight a budget, I don't think the IS250 would've been your best option when it comes to best bang for the buck. I mean, if you wanted a Lexus specifically as a personal preference, that's fair, however if you're going for a strictly value-based middleground, I think there are several stronger and less expensive alternatives that you could've considered from other brands.

Folks this is a roll call/ welcome thread. I'll ask you please start a 250 or 350 discussion thread if you'd like to have a discussion about buying decision criteria. Alternatively you can search up over 100 of them in the 2is forum with nearly exactly the same topic .
Lets keep this thread to welcome new owners please. Thanks.

I have no trouble accelerating and passing other cars, particularly in Sport mode. No one should walk away thinking the 250 is a weak engine. No, it's not the 350, but it's also not a V8. There's always a bigger engine.
We all make trade-offs in life, and for some of us the 250 is more than enough at the right price. Sure, I'd love to have the biggest/fastest engine, but the 250 more than meets my needs. The extra $80/month just didn't seem worth it.
If we're going to be judgmental, let's all focus on blue BMW owners and layoff other Lexus owners. To each his own.
