Wondering if certain colors release more VOCs. Mine is black geometric (Infrared exterior). And no, I didn't use any cleaning products.
So what is your present status? Are you still having issues? I can understand it being problematic.

Hi Boca. I wasn't going to post for a while because of the possible lack of interest, but since you asked I will tell you. I spent over 1K on VOC testing because I knew I'd regret not doing so if I had to sell the car. The levels came back hazardous. The worst in fact that the lab had ever seen. I am currently seeking legal help. My health has gotten slightly better since I stopped driving the car, but I still have debilitating symptoms that linger. Thank you for your concern.

Was there a single major contributor in the resulting analysis, or was it a soup of components?
Sounds like you’ll need some ‘expert’ testimony to determine whether the car came off the assembly line that way, or the chemicals were introduced somewhere later, before you received the car. Hopefully these are chemicals that are common to the manufacturing process and not accidentally added later, as you don’t want the finger of blame to be twisted back to you (as the manufacturer’s lawyers would want to do).
Best of luck, and keep us posted.

Firstly, Health is everything. Finances can restrict moving ahead, but since you know what is going on, if it were me, I'd be staying away from the toxic source. You can replace a car, but you can't replace your body. Taking those steps would be my course of action, and then go from there. I wish you the best, and let us know how you make out. Good luck to you.

Agreed, but I'm not like a lot of people who just give up and don't fight for justice. Also, most people wouldn't correlate their symptoms with a vehicle, but I have extensive knowledge of health and knew there was an issue way before testing. So yes, health is everything to me and I will never drive that car again. I just have to do what's best for me whiile moving forward and it will take some time. Thank you for your support and interest.

You have a valid point, but I'm not worried about having the finger pointed back at me since the chemicals found are not in common consumer products. And being a brand new car, I'd have no reason to spray anything anyway. A lot of what was found is common in newly manufactured vehicles, but in astronomical amounts. Some chemicals shouldn't have been in there at all by the labs standards. It was definitely a soup. The area of law is extremely small when it comes to this topic, but I will continue to look for a firm that deals with environmental exposure. Understandably I don't want to say too much until everything is finalized, but I will follow up here when I feel safe to do so. Thank you for your concern and input.
