Default IS 350 price help

Looking at buying for family member. Local dealer has a new '25 F Sport at $47K. Online prices for a similar '23 with 20K miles are about $41K.
We had GX460 and it held value well but not like that. Why wouldn't I buy new? For every one IS there are five ES for sale and their resale is not as good. Is there a shortage of IS?

I went through something similar back when I bought my IS 350 in 2023. I was looking at used 2021's that were just off of 2 year leases, and they were going for like $44k when a new one with the same specs was like $46k-$48k, so I ended up just buying new.

If you are comfortable with going higher mileage, I would look into maybe higher mileages 21'+. You could find them for in the high 30's.

Just got me a ‘22 F DHP for a bit over 42k and almost didn’t because it seemed way too close to the 2022 MSRP. Then I looked at the new inventory and a non DHP is about 48k, and DHP like the screenshot here goes for that much, at least in Hawaii. Inflation is real, it’s wild that a new F Sport is at over $50k nowadays.

Thanks - potentially looking at an ES too.
