its worth it granted the installer explains the limitations of the product used, what is required from you in terms of maintenance for warranty, and its a long term car.

shop around, and also ask for the risk prone areas.

I’m in NE and I say it worth it if you find a good shop. I end up buying a full roll and doing both my cars whole front end myself. When you do a lot of highway driving it gonna do its job. Been five year and front end of the car still protected and not chip.

Also, for those big dings that might need some buffering, how does that work with the covering?
You don't necessarily need ceramic on top of the PPF but I still got it applied over the PPF to keep the same level of gloss and hydrophobic properties as the rest of the car's paint. Dents are able to be repaired using PDR even with PPF applied. I had someone leave a nice dent on my driver side fender and PDR took care of it with no damage or obvious markings to the PPF.

I'd say it's mostly worth it, but it's not perfect. On my 2023 F-Sport, I had all of the front end done, up to the doors. My daily commute involves a freeway used by tons of gravel trucks, which ruined the front of my previous IS. So far after two years, it's worked well. A few rocks have gotten through, but the front still looks vastly better than it would have without it. It's also preventing paint swirls, which is an added bonus. I still wax these covered surfaces, so that may be what's helping. My only disappointment is some of the edges are visible and two spots around the oddly shaped headlights are starting to lift slightly. These are things most people would not notice, but I am major OCD. Will take it back in to be looked at for the lifting spots.

Just make sure it's a quality wrap, garanteed, and I wouldn't spend over $2k for the front.

What type of warranty did they guarantee?

Are dealership associated places to be avoided?

Found one that also applies the XPEL, but not sure of the cost st this point.

I also assume its better to go for the full front than the partial as listed it;

I would think not.

If customers complained about the PPF received, I would assume the dealership would NOT be a repeat customer or go to that place again nor recommend them.

At least I would hope they wouldn’t. I would hope they would want to please the customer, want to get recommended to others by the customer, and want a good product for the customer.

Lifetime warranty. But many of these places come and go. I chose one that had been around a long time and had a good reputation. Dealers also use them, which is normally a good sign.

Exactly, that's why I had my dealer do it. Any problems and THEY will fix it.
Plus, Lexus provides various coverage packages. Just tell them how much you want covered, leave the car, pick up when job done.
As I said before, I just had the front end done and it was <$300.00.

Ill call the other dealership next week.

I got one quote today from one dealership, I have attached the picture.

The other place https://www.presidentialpaintprotection.com/ provides the cost, but i did ask for an estimate as well.

Looks like its gonna be north of 2k at this point.

My '15 had it on the front and mirrors when I bought it last year, so somebody added it at some point in it's life. It's the first car i've had with it and I absolutely love it. I have a 30 minute-all hwy drive to work each way so it definitely does it's job for sure.

I also want to add....I see independent shops advertising it for about $900-$1,000 around here. Now i'm not sure how much coverage that is, but from talking to people, that seems to be the going rate around here in South Texas.... $2K seems high. I'm also pretty certain your dealership is not actually doing the work, they are subbing it out to someone else, marking it up, and then selling it to you. If the convenience of working through your dealer has that kind of value to you, then by all means go for it, but I be you could go straight to a shop and do it for much less.

Good luck to you, regardless of who does it, I would say it's a must for long term ownership on these cars.

whack.

The independent shop never got back to me, so it made my choice easier.

The bill is gonna suck, but its lifetime warranty and the place has a good reputation.

I had the "ultimate package" equivalent at a 3rd party shop for my IS500 with f-sport with xpel it was $1800. This is crazy SoCal prices too. The dealer is overcharging...

I haven't found anyplace that would be under 2k for the equivalent.

Is it worth it? Living in the NE, i don't think 2k would be that bad.
PPF is worth its weight in gold, I will always get it on every car I own. I’m also in NE and in the winter you will wish you had it, all the salt and sand getting kicked up and brushing the snow off your car. It is night and day with it on, I got my Lexus used if did not have anything on got my hood all chipped and eventually got ppf. Since then no issues at all, it also beads the water right off. When I wash my car I know I don’t have to worry about those areas getting scratched by the drying towel or wash mitt. 2k is a good price mine was 1,500 and we knew the owner.
