Default IS Stolen and Recovered

My 2016 200t was stolen from our driveway about three weeks ago and recovered three days later. This was at 7:30am with the sun shining. On The Ring camera you can see one of these guys going through the sunroof after shattering it. I had a steering wheel lock on it. Another guy handed him a sawsall. He pulled the steering wheel apart after cutting it and slipped the steering wheel lock off. The cop told me they are now capturing the signal from the OBD2 input. I have an Apple AirTag hidden under the carpet in the back. I could see the car driving around Oakland, California. Police never went out. Sheriff's department found it abandoned in a parking space. The car wasn't badly damaged, some scrapes on both sides, right side mirror cracked. It's in the shop now. My friend's car was stolen and found in Oakland three weeks later and destroyed. Someone was living in it. I had a kill switch installed on my wife's Infiniti and will do the same for the Lexus. It's now common for thieves to enter through the sun roof as it's not connected to the car alarm. I post this as a warning.

Sucks. Sadly, crime is okay and law enforcement has been weakened due to many laws passed in CA. We have to fend for ourselves and the kill switch sounds wise. Hopefully you get the car back and can proceed forward with it fixed. Thank you for sharing your story.

Those are amateurs that stole your car.
Pros can get it without having to break your sunroof, but your outer door lock will be damaged, not to mention your car would be long gone.

As stated in the original post, thankfully it was found after three days and not badly damaged. It's in the shop being repaired. Thanks.
