What is the process like when adding android auto to a 2020 IS 350? Does the whole head unit need to be taken out? Do you lose steering wheel audio controls? I am looking at a couple IS 350 right now and a couple are 2020 that dont have android auto or apply car play.

 

Unless there is a flash update from the factory to add it to a 2020 I believe you are out of luck. I am only aware of Android Auto coming with 2021+ models.

I misunderstood. Aftermarket there are a few options. Is this the kind of thing you are looking for? Do you already own a 2020 IS 350?

If you have the 10in screen (which you likely do with a 2020) then you don't need the screen replacement, you just need the interface. I replaced the screen and interface on my 2016 IS200t, but with my 2019 IS300 I did only the interface. I have been super happy with 4x4shop. I also bought the Lexion unit and had nothing but problems with the unit and with their customer support, which was nothing...
