Default What to do with TPMS when getting new wheels

I'm thinking of buying a set of Weds for my 08' IS250, but I am confused on what to do for TPMS. I have the stock oem ones, but would it be better to buy a new set of TPMS and connect it to my car? I'm guessing it would be expensive to swap TPMS since my oem and the aftermarket wheels all have tires on them. My knowledge on TPMS is low so any help is appreciated.

Just get new TPMS on the new set of rims, problem solved. Do not sweat it. The TPMS will be programmed for the car.

I get a TPMS error in winter with my winter tires on. I just ignore it. No warning in summer.

i would get a different set of TPMS - IF your new wheels are TPMS compatible. not all are!

any america's tire can program them for free, in the parking lot, if you're nice !

good to know. Where would you get a new tpms sensor? Would you get just one or replace all four? Generic brands ok?

You can either buy a new set for the new set of wheels or transfer your existing set to the new wheels.

Imo, if you can afford new wheels, you can afford a set of sensors. 👍🏼

I use ATEQ TPMS QuickSet reset tool to swap the TPMS. Plugs into the ODB2 port and can update the TPMS. They have a feature to save 2 sets of TPMS on the unit for quick setting.
