Hey guys, I'm not too familiar with tyres and was wondering if there are any drawbacks to using different tyres for front and rear wheels for my 2012 Lexus IS250 GSE20 . I want to fit EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 2 255/40R18 99Y for my 2 rear wheels and EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 5 225/40R18 92Y for my 2 front wheels. Will this be okay or should i go for all round asymmetric 2s?
They're both similar tires. Check the DOT on the sidewall to see the production date.
It seems Asymmetric 2 were first released in 2011 but many customers found them very noisy with low treadwear of 240. I would definitely NOT install 10-11 year old tires on any car, whereas I'd consider Asymmetric 5 since those were first released in 2018
