I have an opportunity to pick up a 2012 IS 350 AWD private party (from a co-worker), who has had to upgrade in car due to growth in family. The service records look good overall, and the 60k mile service was completed in May.

1. What should I know about this model year to look out for in the near future?
2. Are there any current owners of the 2012 that could share their experience in owning?

 

Not much for 2011 up. All the bugs are worked out.
Id look into swapping all the fluids at 75k.
Coolant, brake flush, transmission and rear diff.
Inspect brakes and all that. But you should be good to go to 100k too. But the coolant is 10 years old. So...

If they haven't been done, the HID lights are do for a swap. Don't go cheap if want to see.
