Power steering issue IS250
Hi, I recently bought my 2007 Is250 with 103k miles. Car was great for the first 2k miles, then the power steering failed out of nowhere. Local shop said I needed a new PS module so I sourced one off eBay but that didn't fix the issue. I ended up bringing the car to my local Lexus dealership. They diagnosed the car and said the "new" computer was no good and I also needed a new wire harness that goes from the computer to the steering rack. $1,700 later the power steering was fixed
Now, after a few hundred miles I'm having issues again. 50% of the time when I start the car the "P/S" light is on and I have no power steering. I shut the car off, restart it, the light goes away and I have power steering.
I'm going to contact the dealership but I'm scared they're going to say I need a new steering rack which easily a $3k job if they do it. I was curious if anyone has any insight on this problem
thanks in advance!
