Dashboard and door panel repairs
Hi all,
I have quickly tried to find out more about this, but it's hard to. I have upgraded to a new Lexus and am selling my 2006 IS250. I need some repairs made to the dash and door panels. I don't know what the material is called, which makes it really hard to find someone to repair! I also phoned Lexus NZ who put me onto someone who could replace the insides of the doors, for about half of what the car is worth!
For anyone anywhere in the world, I would appreciate knowing what this material is called.
For anyone in New Zealand (more specifically Auckland), I would appreciate knowing of anyone who can repair?
Happy to provide images if it helps.
Thanks in advance,
Wayne

It's made out of whatever proprietary blend of materials Toyota/Lexus spec'd from the producer. You're likely not going to get an exact answer. You're better off finding some cheap upholsterer, if you don't want to sell it as is, to put some cheap leather/cloth/suede over the door panels/dash.
