Default Rattle noise

I hear a rattle noise when I roll over a bump in my Lexus IS 250. An experience mechanic has looked under the car and under the hood. We check the shocks by raising the car up and pulling the car up and down. I’ve had brakes and wheeling barring changed recently. Any ideas?

Check the ball joint in the upper control arm to see if it has become unseated from the UCA. Happened once to me after hitting a BAD pothole. Rattled and clunked over all uneven/rough surfaces thereafter until fixed that evening.

‘When the brake job was done did you replace the shims with the OEM Toyota/Lexus shims? That’s what fixed the rattle over bumps on my IS250.

I drove all summer with random noise going over bumps and the pad slap when going from reverse to drive. I recently put new pads on the front and ordered the OEM Shim kit that has the rubberized shim and the metal shim. Greased the front and back of the rubber shim and put it all back together. To my astonishment the one annoying noise going over bumps went away. Im at 80k miles and have replaced Swaybar endlinks, swaybar bushings, LCA bushings and still have a faint rattle upfront on the drivers side somewhere. Pretty sure its the upper strut mount but have not gotten around to checking it yet since it isnt too bad. I swear after year 7 of owning my car everything seems to rattle in it.

Besides what other people have mentioned, also check your sway bar bushings/endlinks. Worn bushings and endlinks can make a rattling sound when going over bumps, up driveways and or rough roads
