Default Inside Door Handle Broke

The drivers door handle on the inside panel just broke. It still opens the door and the power locks work, but the silver lever is loose and limp.

My car had the service campaign done 2017 replaced all the door panels but when I called Lexus they said the door lever mechanism was not replaced.

Now I have to have a tech pull the panel off and I assume replace the lever mechanism.

Any easy way to do this??

This just happened to me, the inside of the door handle plastic piece where it hooks onto the wire broke. I ordered a dorman replacement part and fixed it.

Dorman 79808

It says passenger side on the title, but is really drivers.

Yes the panel has to come off. Its easy, Remove the cover where the lever is and unscrew the screw. Pop the window switch trim up and unhook everything, should be another screw. Then pop the sides and bottom off and lift the panel up. Unhook the two wires from the door latch and lock button. Should be like 4 or 6 screws that hold the door latch assembly.
