Default IS swapping DVD player to ML system with Nav possible?

Hi all

I am recently got a DVD player unit and would like to install it in my car.

My car got Nav unit with ML but no DVD just normal 6 disk cd changer. I am wondering if I could just swap the DVD unit with the current player? . Would it be a plug and play swap? Or do I need to add wire to make it work.

And will I get Digital audio when listening to radio or Aux?

Thanks

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question, but something doesn't sound right. The DVD player wasn't a separate option, rather it was packaged with the Mark Levinson w/nav upgrade, i.e., "Mark Levinson® Premium Surround Sound Audio System with 7.1 architecture and in-dash, single-feed, six-disc DVD/CD auto-changer". So if you have ML, you should already have DVD.

Thank you for your reply

I forgot to mention that my car is not USDM spec. its a JDM car and the car can be config differently that maybe why it came with NAV and without DVD. Or maybe the previous owner swap the DVD unit out?

You’ll need a harness that connects the radio to the blue outlet in your Nav. You’ll also need to rewire the wiring that goes from your radio to the aux input in your console. Finally, I think you’ll need an optical audio cable that runs from your radio to a ML amp. If you have a pioneer amp maybe you don’t have to do this last step.

Thanks for your valuable info. Could you be more specific regarding the harness? Do you have the part number or picture for it so I could source a correct on. Also do you have the diagram for rewiring ?

Thanks !

It’s under the diy section for installing Nav in a non-Nav car
