In my quest to remove all my chrome from the car, I took apart the side-mirrors so that I could wrap the chrome pieces surrounding the turn-signals. Since I had everything apart, I also wrapped the turn-signals with some smoke tint and swapped out the bulbs for LEDs. I found a number of YouTube videos how to remove the mirrors and take apart the housings (super easy to do), but I couldn't find any pictures of what it looked like inside the housing where the turn-signal was mounted. So, here it is for anyone that wants the reference.
Take out the 2 screws shown, and both the turn-signal and chrome piece surrounding it comes right out. I should have taken pictures of these parts unassembled, but I forgot.
Does anyone know if this side mirror covers fit 2007 IS?
I'm pretty sure the shapes change after Lexus added the blinkers in 2009+. There are aftermarket mirrors with the blinkers for 2006-2008, but they're not painted and you need to add wires for the blinkers to work.
