Default IS250 won’t start - crankshaft position sensor A

Hello - looking for wee help. IS250 running perfectly - but this morning would not start. Solenoid fires. Engine does not turn over. It will jump start on first kick. It runs smoothly. Without engine on headlights on, but not bright. Running error code P0335 “crankshaft sensor a position” etc
replaced key batteries, no joy. Before spend £100 on battery does anyone else agree this is what it sounds like? P0335 seems pretty wide ranging in terms of what could mean....

Sounds like a bad battery/charging system to me.

If lights not bright while engine is running, I would think it's the alternator.

Thanks guys - lights were dim with engine off. Replaced battery and all seems fine now with no repeat error codes being thrown.
