Default 2006 is250 P/S light problem

Hi, I bought a really rough condition IS250 last year and the car is making my life miserable....
Don’t get me wrong, I really like my car, although there are tons of problems need to be fix, but I managed to get it fix little by little.
right now, I’m trying to figure out why the P/S light light up.
I try to google it, but so far, I don’t see someone have the same problem as I do.

So here is what’s happening with my car.
when I start the car, P/S light pop up, there’s no power steering.
However when I shift to Drive, the light go away, and I can drive it without any problem.
seems like whenever my car is in Park or Neutral, the power steering will be disable and the light pop up, but when I need my car to move, they come back.

If somebody have any idea what’s going on with it, please let me know.
thank you

Search alternator/ PS issues on the forums here. You'll find tons of information. Search feature should be on the top of the page. It's most likely a failing alternator.

Top #1 issue popping up on the forum here for 2IS electric issues is member's alternator failing. And when they're on their way out or have failed, they cause ALL SORTS of electrical problems. So first ensure your battery is good, and then look HEAVILY into your ALT.

Take battery and tray out to see the condition of the steering ECU under there. I bet battery fluid and corrosion have destroyed the ECU.
