I test drove one of these today and was very impressed. I wanted to buy it but needed a few questions answered first. The dealer a lexus dealer by the way said a noise in the engine compartment kinda like a ticking noise was normal with these engines because the are direct injection Is that right? A;so there was a ratlle when going over bumps with the top down but not when up?

Ticking sound: unknown. I dont have this. all 250s and 350s have direct injection BTW. the 350's also have port. Rattle: Yes, hard tops rattle, creak, and squeak sometimes. The creaks and squeaks can be mitigated by using gummi phledge on the seals, but rattles may happen from all the mechanical components and you'll just need to live with the rattles most likely. I have no major rattles with my 2010's top.
If you dont mind me asking, what was the price, condition and mileage? I generally advise people to always buy the 350's in the C line. You lose a couple of MPGs but get a lot more power and this is a very heavy car.
this is the first I have heard of the sticky dash recall I will look into it.
Yep, I had my dashboard replaced in January on my 2010 IS350 under the extended dashboard warranty. I didn't know about it either until I joined this forum!
