Hey Club Lexus!

I love my 2006 Lexus IS350, and I wanted to share the most common maintenance issues I have faced that are common across the Lexus IS350 and Lexus IS250!
I have a 2006 Lexus IS350 with 300,000 on the clock now, and my finance has a 2009 Lexus IS250 with over 300,000km and we found some common issues that we think effects all owners and potential new buyers for what they should look into.

Love these cars, and glad to be part of the Lexus family!

Quick question for you, have you gotten any top end carbon cleaning done on the is250? I have a 2011 is250 AWD and might be experiencing some stuttering and stumbles here and there. Oh and my car from Manitoba is rusting in the exact same spot as your is350!

I have not, what we have done is a seafoam which helped a lot. Are your sparkplugs still in good shape?
Okay so we both need to get that rust fixed

I have a 2010 IS350 Sport I bought in September at 52K miles (it now has over 60K miles), and the only "issue" I share with you is gas mileage LOL! I am lucky if I average 19.5 MPG. Occasionally on long highway trips I will hit around 27 MPG. But I knew getting into this car I would be sacrificing gas mileage.Everything else is like new, including the dash which Lexus changed in January through the sticky dashboard extended warranty. I change the oil every 5K to 6K miles with full synthetic, I have no leaks nor does it burn any oil between changes so I never have to add a drop.

If you want to really experience a car that leaks and burns oil, try a 2017 BMW M5. My neighbors fairly new M5 leaks all over his driveway, he has to use kitty litter to try and keep it from going all over the place! He told me he adds about a quart every 500 to 1K miles! Now that car is a maintenance nightmare...
