Default IS250 second Rev limiter?

Just saw a video of an IS350 driver that said if your car is in park, and then put in reverse and then park again, it will change the limiter to 5000rpm. And in the comments it said it worked for IS250 too. Can someone explain what that was? Because I know the Rev limiter on the 250 is at 6500rpm and saw some people get their Rev limits to 5000rpn or 4000rpm. How can I do that? And which cars does that work for?

Never heard of this before. Perhaps some sort of factory "valet mode"?

In that video, the IS350 only was able to hit 5k in PARK. So unless that extends to DRIVE, just about useless I guess. But I'll see if this works myself and will report back.

Yeah that's what I meant. He put in park and the limiter moved to 5000rpm. I know is useless but kinda cool "Easter egg" would be fun to be able to do that. I will be waiting for your answer :P

So I tried this over the weekend. Engine at operating temp. Found a back road with no houses on it. Went to town on the revs...or at least I tried. So doing what was shown in the video, I got the revs to 5500; but I'd not call it a 2-step by any means because when I tried doing this, it would act like it was bogging at 5500. Felt like once it hit 5500, it killed most power. Hard to describe, but an odd feeling.

Regardless, if in PARK, it cannot be used as a 2-step legitimately. So whatever function it really is for, its basically pointless.

So it worked for u?? I know it's not 2 step but the name of the video was 2 step hehe I think the function is to just not damage the engine tbh, but it does not seems to work for me :P but it's a little cool Easter egg idk
