Anything spill on the dash or maybe had the dash out, windshield replaced?

It is the bubble sensor, center right of dash, darker but translucent plastic. Is it damaged?

Thank you for follow up 2013FSport, appreciate it!
Am researching used vehicle and diagnostic scan performed. Unsure of vehicle history with regard to windshield being replaced or not. Will try and obtain a photo of the dash area for review.
To confirm, the two sensors are for activating the auto headlights, or is one for the auto headlights and the other for something different (solar thermister for the A/C. etc.)?
Additional research lead to the following however, unsure if correct for sensors causing codes (B1421 Solar sensor circuit Passenger / B1424 Solar sensor circuit Driver);
Sunlight sensor 89121-06020
Autolamp sensor 89121-06020

If parts needed to be replaced, is it "plug and play", with removing from harness connector and reinstalling?
Again, thank you for your time and assistance. It's appreciated.

Not many failures for that code so it's hard to know the cause or fix. But yes, that sensor controls most everything interior and exterior lighting wise.

There was a warranty for dash replacements for being sticky. If done recently it could be related. That said, because the sensor is integrated into the defrost louver area, it seems unlikely to be damaged or disconnected but it is possible.

Best guess is you pull the dash and plug the sensor into the body ecu (bcm) or A/C amplifier module. Worst case is sensor and/or Air Conditioning Amplifier replacement which are likely very cheap on fleabay.

If you create an account on www.alldatadiy.com for this vehicle you can read the whole repair and test method options. The sensor itself is a simple photodiode so it's nothing special.

PS the 1421 and 1424 is the sensor not going from dark to light and light to dark. They go together.

The other P2281 code is a signal malfunction from the push button start and is related to the Power Control ECU which if cleared, may go away and stay off.

Thanks for providing the additional information about the codes 1421 and 1424, being sensors not reacting to light or dark when present.for dash mounted "bubble" sensors This will effect Auto Headlight ON function only?
I was aware of the issue with interior material (dash, front and rear door inserts), degrading and becoming sticky however didn't cross my mind that it's possible it may have been replaced. Will research further.
Also, thank you for confirming that diagnostic code B2281 is malfunction detected from Push to start button to Power Control ECU. I had interpreted that code as being a malfunction between the Power Control Module (Power Source Control Module part 8967053090?) and Engine Control Unit.
Came across a similar part search engine at TOYO DIY.com
