Would a bad temperature sensor cause a motor blower not to turn on? Been having issues with my 2006 is250 the motor blower will not turn on, checked fuses, new motor blower and still no luck...was told to maybe check temp sensor or ac amplifier, would anyone happen to know if these will cause a blower to not turn on?

Disregard post...

The 2nd Gen IS has a AC amplifier. It controls pretty much the same as the resistor.

Look up threads on AC amplifier. If you find the hose yields the same results.

It depends on how the manufacturer designed it. On the Toyota I've yet to see it happen. Most likely it just gets dirty. Probably giving wrong ambient temps.

Someone recently replaced the AC computer controller for a problem like this and fixed. IIRC It was a new post in the last month. I'm not saying that's it, but with Fusion OBD app and the Lexus PID pack you could for about $45 diagnose it yourself. You need an OBD II Bluetooth dongle.

Im thinking it’s the amplifier also or maybe relay...do you know is there just the 1 relay under the hood for a/c comp or is there a separate relay for the motor blower itself? Figured I’d change that before trying the ac amplifier since a relay is like $10 bucks

The is no serviceable relay for the blower motor. The speed controller is on the A/C Amplifier. If you have a volt meter, i'll first check the power wire (the blue one on the harness plug), and make sure there is 12v there. If there isn't, check the 50A HEATER fusible link It is most likely blown. While you are there, check the Ground wire (white black strip) too. If there is power, then the A/C Amplifier is probably faulty.

My cabin temperature sensor is missing also. Anyone have a pic of the harness?

The harness was behind the radio. eBay has the sensor for $25.
