Default IS250 Satellite Switch & Instrument Cluster

The satellite switch pictured below allows turning on and off certain features like parking sensors and setting tach led etc. I'm just wondering if anyone knows, if this unit is disconnected, what happens to the features like parking sensors etc? If parking sensors are on and you remove this switch, do you get a sonar system error? or does it just leave the system at the state it was last? And also does anyone know if a instrument cluster was completely removed does the car still drive? or do certain systems go offline?

I'll have to check on my IS...I believe that switch is for dimming the instrument(dial) cluster and scrolling through some of the options in the cluster. Here in the states, referring to "satellite" may have some people thinking it's the satellite radio option.
