working on my own project and I'm looking into porting the lower intake manifold for the same reason you did. any suggestion on where to send it to? local machine shop or did you order one?

Big rule - don't go crazy as bigger is not always better especially where components mate. Example is you either perfectly match ports size to size which often times involves dowel pins or you leave the exit port smaller than the entry port or its like turning your funnel over and trying to pour into the small end...
