Default Common Problems for 2007 is350

Hey everyone,

I am currently looking at a 2007 Lexus IS350. It has 84k miles on it and the body seems to be in pretty good shape. I haven't talked to the seller too much because I am not planning to buy the car just yet. Before I do though, I want to know about any common problems with a 2007 lexus is350.

Thanks

Although this issue was already solved by Lexus, check to make sure the dash isnt all melted and sticky. If it is then contact your local Lexus dealer to get it changed, hopefully under warranty from the recall. It has pretty low miles for a 2007 and its only at 84k so you have a lot of life left in the car. I believe the carbon buildup is solely for the IS 250 since they were built with only direct fuel injection and not with indirect as a backup (like the 350 which has both and cleans the valves, reducing most if not all carbon buildup) There arent many problems against the 350's since theyre built pretty tough and last a while if you take good care of them. Make sure you get a PPI and find out whether or not the trans fluid was serviced at all by any Lexus dealer and check the oil along with how the trans shifts. Good luck and welcome to the community if you do decide to buy the 350 !

I have an '07. Sold it to my son. Had the dash done about 8 months ago and door panels will be done soon (no cost). Knock-on-wood, but have not had any issues with it besides the dash getting "gooey." It only has ~60k miles, but very solid car...

Oops, I lied. Geez, the whole reason I got on the forum is to check for threads on battery draining. After that car was not driven every day, I figured out it would drain the battery in a couple weeks just sitting unless you put a trickle charger on it. We have never figured this out. So, that would be the only issue we have had!
