Default Exhaust Recommendations

Hey, I recently picked up my first Lexus, a 2009 IS 250 AWD, and I was looking at installing a new exhaust next summer. Right now I am looking at the Tanabe Medalion cat-back exhaust system, and the Invidia cat-back exhaust system, for around $900 CAD and $975 CAD. Does anyone else on here have these systems and do you recommend them? Does anyone recommend anything else? I was also looking into the Invidia midpipe with a Megan Racing axle-back system. Thanks!

No midpipes for the awd. You will be limited to an axleback. Fyi. All of these are good choices and have been done many times. You can also straight pipe it which seems to be popular if you like loud exhaust that doesn’t sound good. But some people just want to be loud and obnoxious and don’t care about how it sounds. Or don’t want to spend money on an actual exhaust. Check out youtube for videos which will help point you in the right direction.

Exhausts are all personal preference. I'm obviously going to recommend the Tanabe as someone who is currently running it on my car. Subtle on the daily but can sound pretty good on throttle. I'll just leave mine:

So is a cat-back not even an option then? Fully restricted to an axle-back?

This sounds pretty good! Especially since reddit said its the quitest of all the aftermarket exhausts. Is this a full cat-back or just an axle-back?

There was once a midpipe for the tanabe. I don’t know if anyone has ever gotten their hands on one or if it was even released to the public. There are no mid pipes available for the AWD. You could always delete the secondary cats which essentially accomplishes the same thing. You could even replace them with resonators to be more like the Megan midpipes and will help eliminate rasp.
