Default iPhone will not play through aux cord!

I have a 2010 IS250 with the appropriate and working aux cord. My iphone 7S will play for about 2 seconds before stopping, so I know it is not a hardware problem. Has anyone had this happen and how do I trouble shoot it?!? Unfortunately my touch has stopped working a long time ago so I can't use that for BT either.

I don't own an iPhone but I'll try to help. Have you tried a different aux cord? You said yours is working fine, but it might be possible that the phone is trying to detect it as a wireless headset instead of a regular 3.5mm stereo. Standard aux cords just have two "stripes" on the metal part of the connector, while microphone enabled cords have 3. Else, have you tried running a different music app? Might also be the music app trying to interact with the car and failing. That's all I can think of for you to try. My statements may be wrong and have no effect on operation also.

If you have a phone case it might prevent the aux cable from fully being plugged in.

My buddies iphone had a case and every time he wanted to use to AUX, he had to take off the case to use it.

Do you have another car with Aux to try?

Did you try cleaning the shmoo out of the lightning connector (the 7s doesnt have a 3.5mm jack right?) sometimes they get filled with lint ans whatnot

Different car but in my Cayenne only one out of my 4 aux cords would work and play my iPhone. The other 3 worked in every other car I owned but not the Cayenne. The weird part is it was the cheap aux cord I picked up at Walmart that worked, but none of my Apple ones worked. Moral of the story - some cords only work in some cars.

Why don't you check the AUX plug itself? I saw a lot of car has AUX plug problem.
