Lightbulb Made some lexus is250 boot (Trunk) interior ceiling hooks

Hi,

I'm not sure what models this covers, but it might cover the ES, etc. In the boot of your car you have two detachable hooks. When I got my IS250, I noticed there was a missing roof hook in the boot of the car. And the existing ones aren't that good anyway, they keep falling out. So I decided to design and 3D print some. (I don't even use them really, just thought it would be a fun little thing to do, and others might find it useful.)

Below is a pic of it, works really well, it's difficult to take out though, so I might modify the design to make it slightly easier to push in the tabs for removal. (Or just give the exterior inclined pieces a little sanding to make them stick out less)

Here's a link to the design if anyone is interested: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2895632

I've never used them either, but have tried to affix my Lexus cargo net to them and them don't seem to work with the netting. What are they intended for? LOL!

I think they are there just to keep the trunk lining attached to the car and nothing else...

very nice CAD work here sir! thanks for sharing such a cool project making a mundane item usable.
never knew they had a keyway on them either.

I got a feeling they were designed for carrying home 'take out' or 'take away' food bags ie Chinese or Indian food which if you have a driver only in the car and no one to assist then to prevent any spills the bags can be secured on these hooks.
