Yes. You'll need to be able to put it into neutral without concern of it rolling to align the switch using a drill bit of whatever size fits best.
Look online for a seal puller specific to Toyota shift shaft and don't be afraid to drop the rear trans mount and let the trans settle a bit for access.

I don't think the last two comments were understanding the OP's comments about the shifter linkage shaft seal needing to be replaced. That is a rather simple fix, like your dealership said. Get the car up on stands, remove the black plastic cover over the driver's side of the trans, pull the bad seal using a hook-shaped pick tool, oil-up the new seal, press in new seal using similar sized socket to help drive it in, reattach plastic cover, drop car, done! 30 minute job at the most.
I replaced mine when I did a trickle flush on my auto trans. It was to about to start leaking, along with the entire trans pan gasket.

The shaft is on the right side (bank1) and there is nut holding a lever on that needs removed, the neutral safety switch unbolts, now the seal is exposed. A very basic tool screws in and pulls the seal. As said drive in a new seal, using a drill bit, align the switch while in neutral, tighten the switch, install the lever and nut.
So ya, comments were applicable.
Checking the fluid level would be a good idea too!
