Beamtech - Good inexpensive LED headlight replacement
Hi guys,
This week, one of my low beam halogen bulbs went out and i was interested in getting LED's this time around. I did some research and i see there are a few great options on the market that are $150+! Rather than making an expensive mistake, I decided to try an inexpensive version, the $36 beamtech LED's.
I installed them today and they work great! Beam pattern is perfect, brightness is maybe a touch brighter than stock halogens, and the color is fantastic! And they have passive cooling, no annoying fan whine that i read so much about. Great low beam replacement for $36.
^ passive cooling on LEDs are like the fins or ribbons that come out of the bulb which in essence replaces the fan like on Xenon Depot's Extreme LED kits. Granted they do need open space so that air can pass over them and cool them off still.

Thanks for the plug, @aspect. Pictured here are our first generation LED Kits - we're actually on to our third generation now, the Xtreme LED PRO Headlight Kit. They're a fair bit more powerful (about 40-50% increase over first generation) and the heat sinks are more efficient. Most fitments (currently everything but H4) also have a clockable design, so you can make adjustments to the locking ring on the bulb to get a better orientation for the diodes inside your housing.
Passive cooling is great, because then you don't have to worry about a fan, which is just another moving part that can have its own issues, separate from anything else in the light assembly.
