2007 IS 350, 65k miles, no problems driving.

I had a tire blow out on my front right a couple months ago and had to get a minor rim repair as well as the tire replaced. I was driving fine when all of a sudden, my Traction Control, ABS, VSC, Check Engine came on. It resets when you turn off your car or happens randomly while you're driving, sometimes after 3 minutes or after 50 minutes. Car drives perfectly fine. I know a mechanic who checked the codes and couldn't find anything wrong, so I finally went to the dealership (melting side panels came in) and paid the $169 diagnosis fee.

Now I get a text from the service rep that says the Tire system main ECU (computer) is shorted. Cost is $1200 to replace. The Lexus dealership I go to is pretty notorious for suggesting outlandish repairs and I was wondering CL's opinion on this matter.

 

Checks the wheel speed sensor. Since you had a blow out. You could of damaged the wiring.

 

I call BS and vote to not go the dealership route. Good luck.
