I have not updated my ECU yet just due to the fact that I have been busy. I will attempt the process over the weekend. In addition, I did my best to time the paddle shifters stock just to see if there will be any difference after the ECU tune (I'll post both numbers once I get my car tuned). I will let you guys know exactly how it goes once I do it!

To answer a few questions from various posts in this thread, you can request up to 5 different tune files for your handheld. It also comes with your stock tune file in case you ever want to revert to it. Request the "FTS" option if you want to try a tune with the transmission tweaks. I found FTS is perfect for track days (except full throttle was actually registering as about ~95% most of the time - still need to try logging the non-FTS tune throttle position to see if the same problem exists and potentially recalibrate my throttle position sensor with Techstream if it does), but I don't recommend FTS for daily driving. I switched back to a non-FTS tune and shifts at partial throttle are much less jerky now. I want to get around to changing my fuel filter before I feel comfortable trying the E85 tune but it seems promising. Also here are some relevant notes from my handheld thread post:

stock parts tuned + any rev limit, Full bolt on + any rev limit, FTS (stands for "Featured Transmission Shift" i.e. all transmission maps we can adjust: transmission torque output control and upshifts), and Beta E85 map

Beta E85 means it's not "perfected" yet

but works fine

Ok, would having just intake/exhaust be an issue?

not at all

but you won't get maximum benefit on E85 without headers
To clarify, FTS is a group of transmission tweaks that is essentially either all or none. Individually selecting part of it will make shift lag worse than stock.

And if you just have intake and/or exhaust, select stock parts tuned.

Also for 2IS the rev limit increase only works in Sport mode and only if you have manually limited it to the lowest possible gear and time it correctly (pull the paddle around 6500-6700rpm for 1st gear if at full throttle) - this leads to sometimes bouncing off the rev limiter if you are trying to actually shift right at the advertised new rev limit. It does not automatically shift at the new rev limit if you just floor it with the gear limiter set to 6 (or any gear other than the lowest possible gear for a given speed).

I'll have to try it out for myself I guess. Anything to help this gearbox shift faster helps. Does FTS really make it very jerky for daily driving?

I have FTS but don't feel anything jerky.. One thing I've asked but nobody's replied yet is there is a beta tune file in the handheld that OV said it's a little bit more aggressive then the rest, I just wonder if anybody has tried it.

The tune wont work on a macbook, you need a PC to do it. It took about a month for OV to fix the communications error with my ECU but its worth the wait. Im running the 91 octane @7400 rpm and its exactly what out cars needed. I have headers, catback exhaust and intake, and with the tune I pull on alot of people.
1st gear top out is around 43; 2nd gear top out is 64-65; 3rd gear top out 99-100 mph; 4th i havent ran it that far yet lol. But overall my car is probably around 350-360hp now, im trying to get a dyno soon. I beat my friends g37s (full bolt ons) and 370 nismo (stock)...
The only issue I had was my throttle response lagged so I run with the ECT sport on and its perfect now.

Interesting that FTS is more jerky. I'm sure OV can fix that with some updates.

The jerkiness is mostly when shifting with minimal throttle for me...FTS definitely feels better than stock when shifting under full throttle, and I run in ETC Power + S mode whenever it isn't raining to get the benefits from the 2012+ ISF Power Steering ECU in my 07 IS350 so maybe it is related to that.

Hmm interesting, what drive/ETC mode do you use, what is your mileage, and have you ever exchanged your transmission fluid? I assume you have an 07 IS350 based on your username.

The only beta file I was offered was for E85 which I haven't had a chance to try yet. Let us know what you think of your beta file!

I've used the ETC Power + S for a while but then turned it off to see if there is any mileage increase. I haven't changed the transmission fluid yet and yes I have a 07 IS350 and my mileage is 72K. The Beta tune file I have on my handheld says 7400 FTS BETA. According to OV Tuning: 'this is a more aggressive, beta version of our 7400 FTS map. it's OK for 93 octane too'. I want to try it but the 'Beta' thing makes me hesitant.

I got a Joe Z intake and I am waiting to get that before I tune my car and I'm going to Canada for a week and a half, so unfortunately it will be a little longer before I can share my experience.

For those who have FTS, where do you see the biggest differences in shift times vs stock? And have you seen a 0-60 or 1/4 mile improvement?
