I have a Curt hitch on my IS350 and while I don't have that style of bike rack, I have a 2 bike rack hitch like this.
If I was puttiing a frame holder 4 bike rack on, I would make sure everything weighed less than 200lbs since thats the tongue weight capacity of the hitch itself.

by curt hitch, do you mean you had to add another part? That's the part I want to confirm. I mean - can I simply buy the bike rack and it goes right into the hitch or need some sort of adaptor? I also cannot find out if my 2006 is250 has a 1 1/4 or 2 hitch receiver
My 4bikes = 100 lb + bike rack about 27 pounds = 127 pounds
Thanks

No, the IS doesn't have a factory built in hitch. No sedans that I know of have one from factory. You will have to order a hitch like this, http://www.autoanything.com/towing/73A3874A0A0.aspx. Since ours is a small car with usually only a class 1 hitch, it's 1 1/4" receiver tube.
