Default Can anyone ID this spring I found on the floorboard??

I've been out of town for the past week and haven't driven our 2006 IS350. My wife is the primary driver but my Mother-in-Law drove it last taking my wife to the airport. Today I got in it to back it out of the garage so I could put the suitcases away in the cabinet in front of the car and found this spring on the floorboard. I looked under there with a flashlight but didn't see anywhere obvious for it to attach. It has some blue paint on one side of it (overspray) and a rubber insert inside. Any clues??

That was it! I'm cursed with height, broad shoulders and long arms so it was a pain to get in and then back out of there but it's on now. Not sure why or how it came off, but it's back on now. Thank you!

Maybe your mother in law was trying to sabotage your car by removing things from the brake 😱

LOL. 🤣 It's her daughter's car. I don't think that's the case.
