Hello All! Brought my 2007 IS250 into the dealer for an oil change and the airbag recall. I just bought this car a few months ago from the original owner, who had the car primarily serviced at Bell Lexus in Scottsdale, Arizona. The service writer pointed out to me that my dash was sticky and submitted the order for a new dash and new door panels...I never even heard of this, but it is a bit "sticky", but the doors panels seem ok. Anyways, the important part of this thread is you only have the end of the month, May 31st to get this locked down as the recall "expires" so to speak. The service guy said it could take a few months to order the parts and was taking up to and over a year when the dash originally became an issue. Just putting this out there as I feel I lucked out big time! I will keep you posted on when I get them with some good before and after pictures.

 

Thanks for the info but this has been discussed here for a long time and there are a couple of threads on it already. Appreciate you looking out for everyone though.

 

Didn't see anything with a date, people with sticky dashboards have 2 weeks left.

I am not sure, call your dealer and provide them with your VIN #.

 

The dates are spelled out on the letter that Lexus sent out that are posted in many threads about this. It states Primary Coverage ends May 31, 2017, supplemented by secondary coverage of 10 years from the date of first use of the vehicle.

Unless something has changed very recently, this only applied to the 2006-2008 model IS. It did effect other models, but I'm not sure about which years.
