Prolonging the life of my 182K is250
Hey all,
I have a 2007 is250 with 182K miles. I love this car to death and want to drive it for as long as possible until it falls apart, but I don't want to do anything super pricey down the road to keep it running (tranny rebuilds/etc).
What should I keep in mind in order to make this
happen outside of routine maintenance like oil changes?
Here are some photos just for fun:

Drive the hell out of it for one. One of the most common issues with the 2.5L V6 engine is carbon buildup on the valves inside the engine. This is due to the fact that this engine only has direct injection. Therefore, in order to prevent this from occurring it is recommended that you drive a little more lively through the upper rpm band from time to time to help burn off excess carbon build up. The 3.5L V6 does not have this issue because it is a port AND direct injection design. The port injection helps keep carbon build up at bay.
Of course, regular maintenance also goes a long way in maintaining the longevity of any vehicle.

What exactly does walnut blasting do? And I did the sparks myself around...160K? Are water pump and drive belt replacements able to be done DIY if I can get my hands on the parts? My dad used to be an airplane mechanic and we try to do as much work as we can ourselves.

I highly recommend the following:
Amsoil 5w-30
Redline 5w-30
Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30
Valvoline Max Life 5w-20 or 30
For the $ Pennzoil Plat. is the best FOR THE MONEY.
Redline is just amazing
