can you tell me about the alternator's harmonic balance or clutch that supposedly counter belt imbalance.
i saw rust coming out of it. does it need to be replace separately or i'll have to buy a new alternator?

At $160 for a new, reman unit from Auto Zone, it's probably best to purchase the whole thing and bypass the individual parts fixes.
