There are many people asking about high mileage IS vehicles so I thought I would post this for the community:
2006 IS350 - Original Owner - 90%-95% highway miles since new. 93 octane fuel always used. All recalls done, spark plugs done at 90K, Water pump replaced at 80K as a preventative measure while motor was out for oil leak repair ( covered under the Lexus extended warranty I had till 100k), gauge LED needles replaced, Dash and door panels replaced, Front and rear brakes done at 120K and that's about it. Oil change done every 5k with Mobile One full synthetic, and no other fluid have ever been changed. I need to do the spark plugs (they have over 120K on them, but runs smooth). I did notice the other day while doing the oil change a small oil leak by the dip stick area dripping down on to the oil pan. The car has been awesome! I plan on holding on to it for another 2-3 year and should bring me to the 300k mark. Thinking about getting the RC350 as my next vehicle.
I can't make up my mind about doing a tranny flush lol, and these type of posts don't make it easy. 210k miles on original 11 year old fluid and no issues? And then we have much newer ISs with 120-150k miles and already on bad trannies.
My problem is not even the money....I am afraid my dealership will screw something up since they almost never do it as they said.

At 210k I wouldn't too, but I have 63k now. Just done my 60k miles service....The usual plus brake flush and rear differential fluid replaced, the plugs too
Very nice. Especially still being on original ATF without problems. I was on the fence at first about doing mine, but will go ahead with it anyway very soon. Im at 54k miles
I am guessing its that magic 90-95% of hway miles that kept the tranny going. I've seen Audi S8 (high performance V10 under the hood) with 300k on original engine and tranny (I assume it was some livery vehicle)
PS. that car looked so good, I think dealer wanted close to $20k for it (I am sure it got sold too.....rolled back the miles to 30k and exported to another country)

I'm in Aus, only have 80k KMs on the clock and I'm doing a Tranny fluid change.
Don't care what any manufacturer says, fluid should never be in a car for that long and through that much use.
Find a reputable Transmission workshop for it and not the dealer, I'm getting mine done this weekend for $270 AUD including fluid and filter kit.
