Winter traction suggestions
I live in Colorado & I own a 07 IS250 RWD which is lowered about 2 - 3 inches & last winter (during blizzard) my 07 did okay, I only got stuck in really slushy conditions & I got some used (michelin?) snow tires from my uncle which got me through the season pretty good.
My friend who owns a 09 250 RWD which is also lowered about the same suggested I get Bridgestone Blizzak WS80's or Michelin X-ICE XI3'S,(Better reviews about the XI3's) Lay down a tarp in the trunk & put Bricks/Cinder blocks in there (to avoid a mess with sandbags if they were to rip). I will also take off my lower body kit accessories to avoid a build up of snow while I drive. Also drive in snow mode !
I'll be getting the XI3's & be putting cinderblocks in the back of my trunk once we start getting heavy snow but for now, my all seasons are doing just fine for the little snow fall we've had.
Also remember that snow tires are not performance tires.. they are gonna feel a bit squirmy or like jello when you're turning, so easy on the gas & slow on the turns! Hope this helps ! Have a safe winter !
