2011+ 2nd Gen IS350 AWD got hidden supercharger in it ?
I ask because i raced with a BMW 335i coupe today and smoked his ***, a friend sat with me in my Lexus he asked me is My car has a Supercharge because it sounded like it and there is no way our Lexus can beat that BMW 335i, i don't like speeding or Racing it was just some idiot BMW acts tough on the road and it pisses me off, hey I'm a DAMN IS350 not 250 or ES and CT200 etc.
ANyways, damn man IS350 is smooth and super handling when GO WOT ! F150 pickup truck driver waved me and said this thing is fast bro. and Ya, i did heard of the SUPERcharge sound also when at 5000 RPM i love that Supercharge Whine in our IS350, exactly sounds like the TRD Supercharge for Toyota Engine model 1MZ-FE ES300 Camry and Solara engine year 1994-2001.
My question is, what the heck did Lexus put in the IS350 engine ? i drove IS250 before they don't sound like this. IS250 produces 204hp and IS350 produces 306hp ?? come on Lexus tell us what you did to IS350...

335i is a quicker car, definitely faster than the AWD version of the IS350. Our engines do rev loud, but I'm sure if you looked in the engine bay you would notice a supercharger haha. That being said I prefer the Lexus, and the IS350 does have a loud engine whine, part of why I love it. It's our short gearing that lets us murder faster cars from 0-60 and usually 0-80, and the fact that we have N/A and can keep up with a 335i for the 0-60 is pretty awesome. I'm a Lexus fan for life I think...and I'm coming from BMW. But all fanboyism aside, they don't call BMW's the ultimate driving machine for no reason, they certainly aspire the aggressive driving that I no longer do in my IS.

I also notice something with this 350 AWD , at speed 90km and 99km i hear whine noise like a whistle like i said exactly sounds like TRD supercharger when it 1st kicks in at 3.500RPM on the Toyota 1MZ-FE, i did a research on this CL forum it also happens to GS350AWD and people said it's the AWD system whines and it's normal, my car is 100% stock i can hear all kind of noise and engine reaction.

I own both cars. 2010 is350 and a 335i sedan with sports package. The 335i is faster and handles better. The Lexus is more comfortable and more reliable while still having more than enough power for everyday driving. I really do enjoy both cars for different reasons.

No hidden supercharger (I wish though lol). But the 2GR FSE engine in the IS350 is extremely underpowered. Its only until now that tuners have been able to crack the ECU and use a greater percentage of power of what it was able to do. If you ask me, that engine probably makes more power than 306 due to the exhaust restraining about 20-25hp, not to mention the 6600 redline is really a lot lower than it should be, AND the engine isn't tuned to its full capability or even near its full capability. People have set redlines to 7200 and even 7400 and the engine keeps pulling until that RPM. With an ECU tune and exhaust I could see an IS350 beating a 335i. If you want to consistently beat 335s almost every time I'd recommend looking into a company called OV Tuning (which made a tune that adds about 18 - 24hp and will add much more as they continue to release more updates) and trying to get PPE Headers (which add between 14 and 16hp)
The 2GR engine does whine when you cold start it and rev it to about 2000 - 3000 RPM and if you rev it over 4000 (when the engine is warm) you can sort of hear it.
I drove a 335i and I own an IS350 RWD. The 335i is definitely faster and handles better, so if I had to give it a guess the driver of the 335 probably lost or had less traction when you did when you raced (which is key. Its hard to win a race if you lose traction even slightly if the cars have similar power). Now if you were racing from 0-40 I could see the IS350 winning or leading. Don't get the wrong idea, I absolutely love to see our cars winning more races, but realistically speaking, it was probably loss of traction on the 335i driver's part. Or he just isn't skilled at racing, one of the two.
Congratulations on the win though!
