I searched the forums but couldn't find any answers in regards to my problem. One of my puddle lights hasn't worked all summer so I decided to change them this weekend. Now whenever I shift to "P" and turn off the engine the puddle lights don't come on anymore. Everything else works, walking to the car and unlocking the doors it lights up. Even when I turn off the engine the interior lights come on. I thought maybe it could be the new LED so I changed back the old LED and it's the same problem which is strange because it was working prior to changing the new LED. Anyone know what's triggering the puddles lights not to light up after I shift to "P" and turning off the engine?

 

I don't think it ever lights up when you put it in Park

 

They only light up when you go to get in the car, or get out of the car

 

I have a 2009 model. I don't know if its only for '09+ but it used to light up as soon as I park the car and turn off the engine.


I think you're referring to the interior door lights not the puddle lights (under the side mirrors).

No, I'm referring to the puddle lights although I should of clarified... they'll light up when you get near the car, or turn on when the engine is shut off and you get out.

 

That's exactly the issue I'm having right now. When the engine is shut off and I get out, the puddle lights don't come on anymore. As stated in my original post, the puddle lights do activate when I walk to the car or unlock the doors. At night it was so nice to see them on every time I turn off the engine.
