Default 07 IS350 sound system problem

Hello everyone, i recently purchased an 07 is350 with the non-ML sound system, i love the car, but i feel like there is something wrong with the sound system, the mids are horrible and in order for music to sound decent at high volume i had to turn the MID all the way down in the EQ, it kind of clips at high volume and i feel like there's something wrong. Or is this normal? Any ideas?

Normal...sadly. I experience the same thing and set mine at halfway.

Your best option is aftermarket audio. If your budget is tight try upgrading the speakers. If you're willing to go deeper, I'd do amplification too. You don't need to use expensive equipment to get a better result than stock.

Of course you could always install a 2-DIN and full aftermarket audio system if you really wanted to

So i finally figured out a solution folks, i just KNEW that something was off with the audio, so i had this Bluetooth 3.5mm adapter laying around from my previous car and decided to hook i up to the AUX input, and WOW what a different, my system now sounds way louder and it does not clip at high/max volume at all. Before it would clip and sound bad at around volume level 50 and would sound low but this seems to solve that issue and its pretty nice to have a wireless feature.

So your issue would only happen while in AUX? Have you also considered a ground loop idolater?

In my previous cars I've avoided using aux as its a digital signal (as opposed to analogue where you use the DAC in the head unit). Aux I found was convenient but otherwise iPod/lightning or CD,HDD has been my preference for sound quality. But that's just me!
