Default installing bar light? whatttt!!!!

I am sick and tired of these crappy lights on my IS...... I live in rural British Colombia, where we fall victim to deers more often the gun crime.... sadly LOL!!!!

so I did it.. bought a god damn bar light or light bar how ever you want to put it. Its 30 inches long and going right behind that bottom grille.

Rated at 18000 LMS I'm ready to blind some deers. (For you tree hungers out there.... I have a BSC and don't give two craps of the over populated deers)

anyway MY ONE AND ONLY QUESTION. how do I get a wire from the hood.... into my dash above the gas and trunk release?

oh final note for haters. I have a neighbour who did it to his CLK 55 and damn does it make a difference... barley noticeable.... and! looks good when the fog lights are on too.. Will update with pictures.

I dont think it will look bad at all. The grill will hide it just fine I bet. Deer are pretty bad here too. Especially when its their " humping" season. Damn things go crazy.

Deer are terrible in NJ too. I used to only see dead deer by the side of the road during the mating season (rut occurs late October though mid November), but now I see them year round.

I'm doubtful the light bar will help. Deer don't seem to be particularly averse to bright lights, and having the road directly ahead of you lit with blinding light will probably reduce YOUR ability to see off-road deer activity in your peripheral vision before they dart in front of the car.

very true and interstingly enough is the science behind it is. "When you see a deer" turn off all your lights to your parking lights. Deers are nocturnal so adapting to the dark then bright beam blinds them... Hence they run into the cars blind.....

This light will just light up the road far enough for me to see them. And for me to slow down before I get to them!

how do I get the light switch inside the cab?

Go through the fire wall where all the other wires do. There is a grommet that can be used behind the battery, from there just route it up under the dash across to the drivers side.

Sorry to get this straight the wire loom is behind the battery not the steering column?

Because sounds a heck of a lot easier to get it behind the battery.. And thanks for answer my question

NVM found a link for where the loom is and the best way to access.

Sorry guys its been a while but I have time to do this now.

Will update soon on a new thread giving you guys the build process.

- 30 inch bar light with harness
- vinyl film for protection
- rubber sealer to cover entry into cab
- beer and a friend to keep you entertained.

**Update** Officially hate this car as there are brake vents where I wanted to place my light. Regardless gave up on the project gave up on the car, tired of trying to "make it better". She is officially for sale as is.
