Arrow Follow the engines firing order

If you follow the engines firing order (1 2 3 4 5 6) you can save a lot of time ratcheting the crankshaft over by hand.
Bank 1 is 1 3 5 (front to back dipstick side)
Bank 2 is 2 4 6 (front to back alternator side)

I contacted a BMW shop in HTX and they said they couldn't do it because they aren't familiar with the engine.

Its essentially the same as a 335i engine, just mounted differently.

Thats at least what my shop had to say on the matter, which is why they took it on

WOW, that is scary and the furthest thing from the truth. A BMW 335i N54 or N55 engine is nothing like a Toyota 4GR-FSE or any GR series motor for that matter. The BMW motor is a BMW designed 3.0 slant 6 cylinder turbo motor where the Toyota GR motor is an NA Toyota designed V-6 and the walnut blasting adapter is totally different.
The walnut blasting procedure is the same process but the removal and replacement of parts is a much different procedure.

Going off what they perceived the job as after they looked into it. Magically I'm the only one who has a BMW shop willing to do the proceedure. They came to the conclusion thats its not all different (yes surprise...they are not identical as far as engine part removal) the concept and process is. Which is what i leveraged in order to agree to take on the idea.

Ive had 2 IS250s done so far and theyre able to do it all in a matter of a few hours. So when people are saying shops are turning them down. I simple tell them what my shop told me. Correct, they had to biy a 20 dollar adapter (which ive noted in other carbon build threads).

I have both cars and have cleaned the valves on both. It takes about 20 minutes to remove the Lexus intake manifold vs. 90+ minutes for the N55 (mostly due to the ECU wires which are nearly impossible to unplug.) After that, it's the same process but the Lexus has much smaller and deeper intake runners. If a shop can do walnut blasting and has a small enough nozzle, the Lexus is trivial to do and even the most dedicated BMW mechanic will be able to do his first Lexus in about half the time. It's also pretty easy to DIY with an allen wrench, valve cleaner spray, a long thin engine cleaner brush and a turkey baster.

I know this is an old thread but this is good. Just did plugs on our 250 and they need some love.

I'll start with CRC valve cleanr and or Seafoam. If no improvement then I'll step up to the DIY walnut blasting.
