Default HID or halogen Bulb

Hello,

I have a 07' IS250 and my driver side headlight would flicker and turn off sometimes. If I turn off my lights and turn them back on the light will work again. I am assuming the bulb is about to go.

My question is how do I noe if I hav HID's or halogen lights if I want to replace the bulb? Should I even bother replacing it if I plan to get new HID's along with HID fogs?

It definitely sounds like you have HID's, halogen bulbs don't do the flicker/turn back on.

That said, knowing whether they are factory HID's or not will require you to take a look at your headlight or use the satellite switch on the left side of the steering wheel and scroll through the options, if you see AFS, you've got factory HID's.

Thanks for this information. Since I see AFS "ON" when i scroll through the option button near the steering wheel, from your post it seems I have factory HID's. To retain the AFS feature, would i need to get H11 hid kits for the low beams? Would i need a separate kit for high beams?

If the car is equipped with a factor HID system you will need a replacement D4s. Most members opt for Philips or Garax D4s aftermarket replacements.

before u buy the bulb I think u should at least check if is ur bulb or ballast that went bad. switch the bulb from left to right and see if the problems switch side if it does then is ur bulb if is the same side then is ur ballast
